I trained at Rycotewood College in Thame learning how to design and make furniture in the Arts & Crafts tradition using only solid hardwoods. My work now includes joinery and carpentry as well as furniture, all of it bespoke and commissioned.  I work mainly with solid wood or panel products, but frequently use all manner of other materials in my work, whether it be upholstery, stone or marble, ferrous or non-ferrous metals, glass, plastics, resins, or lacquer.

You may be very clear with what you require and have drawings by an architect or designer, in which case I can give an estimate or quotation based on those drawings free of charge.

Alternatively you may need a piece of furniture or joinery designed from scratch.  If so, I create a brief from discussing your requirements and making a site survey if necessary. I then make drawings, including perspective views, and material suggestions which are then honed before commencing making the project.

My focus for design is to create either individual pieces or entire projects that are long-lasting and timeless.  Awkward spaces that have to pack a lot of functionality are a specialty.
